Associate Professor Michelle Andipatin is the Deputy Dean of Research in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences at the University of the Western Cape. Her background is Psychology and she specialized in Research Psychology. She works in the area of women’s health, gender issues and qualitative research. Her talk will highlight how numbers have taken such prime space during this pandemic and obscured the stories behind the number.

He has struggled with mathematics (particularly in his first year) and has learned to appreciate the science for more than just a means to an end. Video Compression (with specific reference to Powerpoint slideshows)

This article gives a very quick tutorial on video compression. With online teaching becoming a norm during the lockdown, the unavailability of good internet access has emerged as a major stumbling block for people in many parts of the world. This tutorial would be particularly useful for people who would like to upload a smaller (in terms of size) version of their lecture to make it available to students on the other side of digital divide. The tutorial focuses on powerpoint presentations with slide-wise narration.
