Mercy

Oh mercy besiege me

All echos taunt me

The light deceives me

May mercy find me

May she bless me

Promise to reach me

A tempest within me

Anger I cannot see

Oh guardian console me

Darkness falls from me

They have found me

Call sign Mercy

Mercy is a short poem reflective of the idea that humans have the ability for great compassion and love and so will throw themselves into danger simply to save others. The title draws from the idea that in aviation an air ambulance receives the call sign prefix Mercy or Halo, perhaps I found the current times we live in and the bravery of healthcare workers as inspiration but I can also say that inspiration was drawn from war and medivacs (medical evacuations).
